David lait is a 16 year old student athlete at westmoor high school. David plays baseball for westmoor and was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Osteo Sarcoma. He is originally from the Marshall Islands in the south pacific and is here in the US since the 5th grade living with his guardian family. There will be tremendous medical costs endured by his family and certainly ongoing need, but the immediate goal is to pay for airfare for his birth mother and father to fly from the marshall islands to be at his side. Gas expense will also mount quickly for his guardian family as they travel daily, sometimes multiple times a day from pacifica to the santa clara treatment facility. david is in great spirits and started his chemotherapy this morning April 22nd. His treatment will be over 1 year long with a bone replacement surgery and 10-12 months of chemotherapy.
